The Basic Rider Course is aimed at the beginner or re-entry rider. The course provides fundamentals of safe, responsible motorcycle riding and will include classroom instruction and practical riding in a controlled, off-street environment. The course concludes with a knowledge test and skill evaluation. Successful completion of this course allows waiver of the written & road test portions by the Missouri State Highway Patrol for motorcycle licensing in Missouri.

MANDATORY ITEMS FOR THIS COURSE:

Helmet - Full-face and 3/4 helmets are acceptable provided that they meet minimum DOT certification.
Sturdy, over-the-ankle footwear with little to no heel (boots), no canvas shoes
Long pants (denim or leather jeans preferred, no holes)
Long-sleeve shirt or jacket that reaches the wrist
Full-finger gloves not open on the back of the hand (motorcycle, garden, mechanics or batting gloves are acceptable)
Eye protection (face shield, goggles, ordinary glasses or sunglasses)
Motorcycles will be furnished, you cannot use your own.
**Student must be a MINIMUM of 15 ½ years old the day the course begins and be able to ride a bicycle. Anyone under 18 years of age must have parent/guardian sign the liability form before attending the class. **

Once your enrollment is received, you receive a booklet via mail with instructions to read and bring with you to class. When you pass the course, you will be issued a certification card good for one year to present to the DMV office that waives the written and riding portions of the Missouri State Highway Patrol test for the motorcycle endorsement in Missouri.

Classes are held regardless of weather conditions, so dress appropriately. REFUNDS WILL NOT BE ISSUED IF YOU DO NOT PASS THE COURSE.

Once your enrollment is received, you will be sent a booklet which you will need to read and bring back to class with you. If you pass the course, you will be issued a certification card. When you take this card to the DMV, that will waive you needing to take the riding portion of the test, but you will still be required to take the written test (if you have not done so already).

Classes are held regardless of weather conditions, so dress appropriately.
