Hey everybody!  I'm Mrs. Tibben.  I teach Intro to Health Care you can see the top of this video here is the progression with in our program. I teach Intro to Health Care, Medical Terminology, and Health Science. Miss Bonds teaches Health Science and Allied. So, Intro to Health Care covers a broad range it covers careers, its an introduction to anatomy and physiology, the healthcare system in general how insurance work what kind of positions in facilities there are within Healthcare. It's very very broad...first aid if we're face-to-face we go over CPR as well. Medical terminology is anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology it is it a ton of information and a ton of fun. It is dual-credit which means it is college level and you can earn college credit if you choose to. Health science you can also earn college credit and with that one you typically at the end of the year you earn your certification or your CNA and it gets you ready for working in a long-term care facility. Allied is getting you ready for a position in the hospital. PCT Patient Care Tech so with that you're learning more advanced feels like drawing blood, EKGs, and putting a catheter in the urinary bladder. She does a great job of getting your ready for college as well. Things that I want you to know - I'm going to be asking all students to join me on GroupMe it is a great way for me to stay in touch with you whatever dealing with in person or at home GroupMe is just an amazing tool for me to stay in touch with everybody. I wanted to also talk to you about HOSA, a student-led organization of future health professionals. It's an amazing program that helps kids grow in whatever field they're hoping to go to in healthcare so are your student may come home talking to you about HOSA and when you go to my web page for meet the teacher which if you've gotten this video you're probably fairly familiar with how to get there but that QR code there will take you there. But, within there, you are going to find the syllabus for your student you're just going to go under whichever class they and enrolled in then you're going to find the syllabus and you are going to find more information about the class. So with health science there's a lot to know and there's even more information than that but there's more information about HOSA as well more information about me.
