hello everyone Cotswold Here I Am the welding and Machine Tool instructor at the lake Career and Technical Center in Camdenton on behalf of the school I would like to welcome you all to the 2021 school year looking forward to having you in class you're in my 3-hour block my 1 hour block for my 2-hour block excited for us to have a great year together we are block we have is the welding machine tool class that class is going to touch upon the first year students will get two disciplines of welding shielded metal arc welding in the gas metal arc welding or MIG welding stick welding the second-year students if you're returning second-year student they will get a refresher on the shielded metal Arc as well as the gas metal Arc and they'll also touch on the gas tungsten Arc or TIG welding I would like to welcome plus we would plus the three our block we would be exploring the machine tool side of the courses well which involves the engine lathe milling machine CNC control Milling machines and engine light also the that portion covers the seams the automated plasma table that we use which kind of combines the to the decoding process of the Machining the machine tool side as well as the carbon Arc cutting or the plasma cutting of the I will decide so very very fun course to be involved in always have great students who have good attitudes towards the class the one our block students along with the safe that would be taught in the 3-hour block safety as far as machine safety as well as hand tool safety and knowledge will also be exploring the Jill Miller process welding process and then moving on to the first portion of the gas metal Arc processor MIG welding stick welding beef the 2-hour block which is welding industry fundamentals class those will be doing mainly welding special type of requirement where they would have to do a machine for a project most of theirs is going to be based around the stick welding Shield metal Arc MIG welding a gas metal Arc for a little bit of TIG welding with the gas tungsten Arc I would like to welcome everyone we also have a quite a bit of a fabrication tools that will be accessible to the students with instruction also safety I've obviously safety would be our first priority as far as them being covered under safety the certifications they will block students and possibly the 2-hour block students could get would be an AWS certification in the world suction test in the shielded metal Arc discipline we do share dual-credit with State Fair State Fair Community College safety requirements that we are looking for is we're going to require long pants no Frasier tears long sleeve shirt all clothing needs to be at least 50% cotton steel clothes toed shoes students will be provided with safety glasses to be marked with their name on it they are recommended not to share their safety glasses their gloves of their helmets or they're closed with the other students they will be provided to Locker in the locker area to keep some of their their belongings looking for everyone in class A short little tour of the shopping and wait till that first day so these These are the welding boots that me that we utilize on the side of the shop all three disciplines can be Justin at the stick welding and MIG welding in the TIG welding this is our automated plasma table system here so it is new to us last year how to control console over there these are the the MIG welding machine is a movie using some of our fabrication equipment it's kind of hard to do this stuff application area then we do have a central up here at the top we do have a central vac system with keeps everybody keeps all the the bad stuff out just made it through here we also have a small Malaysian system for for dedicated area again looking forward to seeing all the students and having them in class and I hope you have a rest and I hope you had a good summer so look forward to seeing you in class
