Students desiring to pursue a career in healthcare will complete coursework in the following areas: basic medical terminology, key healthcare systems, legal and ethical responsibilities, and medical math.

Requirements: Proof of Hepatitis B vaccination, flu shot, drug screening ($40+), uniform fee ($45+)
Please note: students will attend clinical 3-4 days in a row. Scrubs must be clean and wrinkle free each clinical day. A second set of scrubs is suggested.

Students desiring to pursue a career in health care will learn basic patient care skills in the classroom and lab, as well as put all skills to work in the clinical setting. Students will learn professional behavior and communication skills of a healthcare provider , describe basic anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology of each body system, explore how care provided is impacted by different age groups and culture, and obtain American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS CPR certification.

Students desiring to pursue a career in health care will learn medical terms necessary to communicate in the healthcare environment. This course focuses on understanding medical suffixes, prefixes, and combining forms related to the structure and function of body systems. Pronunciation, spelling, and definition of medical terms will be covered.
