Celebrating Career & Technical Education Month

February is Career & Technical Education (CTE) Month, which is a time that we use to recognize students, instructors, and community partners that prepare learners for success beyond the classroom. At LCTC, students participate in hands-on learning that connects academic, technical, and employability skills to practical experience and real careers. We have also been able to celebrate the members of our school and community who show their support and love of LCTC in so many ways. Our "Tech Skills Tuesday" Campaign was a great success! Throughout the month, students showcased their skills through classroom projects, certifications, and competitions.

They also had a lot of fun with LCTC Spirit Week and other celebrations. While CTE Student Organizations such as FFA, SkillsUSA, FBLA, FCCLA, and HOSA helped develop student leadership, teamwork, and professionalism. CTE provides relevance, confidence, responsibility, and technical skills for students prior to graduation. Because LCTC is so well supported by our community, our staff is able to prepare the future innovators of the Lake of the Ozarks! We are beyond proud to celebrate the students, instructors, and community members who make these opportunities possible at LCTC.

Work-Based Learning Spotlight

This month, we are proud to shine our Work-Based Learning Spotlight on Colleena Sparks! Colleena is a Senior at SOTO and a second year welding student at LCTC. She is committed to growth and makes the most of her internship experience at Dam Steel and Supply in Osage Beach. She is building valuable technical and employability skills that will serve her well in her future career. After graduation she plans to attend American Welding Academy.
Colleena embraces new challenges with confidence and maintains a positive attitude in every task she takes on. Lake Regional Health System: Featured Community Sponsor

LRHS has supported students at LCTC not only as a community sponsor, but also as a host for our Health Science Students to participate in their required clinical experiences. As a result of this partnership, LRHS has employed a number of excellent Patient Care Technicians and LCTC students are getting opportunities to work in the healthcare setting as interns and employees! Thanks so much for your support!
